Media Supervisor

We're looking for a Media Supervisor, someone who is responsible for total media planning and services on the accounts assigned. The Media Supervisor will supervise those Media Planners/Buyers and Media Assistants assigned to those accounts and manage the day-to-day aspects of all account functions from strategic planning to implementation and reporting. The Media Supervisor will work with Digital Media Planning Specialists to ensure integration of digital and traditional media is being accomplished where appropriate. Headquartered in Minneapolis. 


  • Internal and External Relationships
  • Maintain effective working relationships with external client contacts, internal Account Management teams, Media teams as well as outside vendors  
  • Ensure agency work meets or exceeds client and agency’s quality standards, is presented in a professional manner and is delivered in a timely fashion within the client’s budget and focused on the client’s objectives
  • Become a recognized subject matter expert on both traditional and digital media issues
  • Fluent in all client business issues, including company business goals and objectives, products, markets, industry, distribution, etc.
  • Stay up-to-date on media trends and business practices that impact client business or agency business
  • Work with Media team members to synthesize complex analytical data from primary and secondary resources, develop and write situation analysis, strategic guides, competitive analyses, media POVs and strategic media plan documents
  • Manage implementation, including back-end analytics where needed, which would include drafting and presenting reports to internal and client audiences
  • Help train and develop Media Planners and assistant level planners and work with accounting personnel to ensure accuracy in client billing and resolve/reconcile invoice problems with media vendors


  • Lead the media process and ensure the Media team communicates all key deadlines for plans delivery to internal and client audiences
  • Collaborate and lead digital and broadcast media discussions in concert with Digital teams and Broadcast negotiators
  • Maintain written records of all directions, work orders, recommendations, meetings, etc., which result in client decisions or approvals, particularly authorizations to proceed with chargeable services
  • Develop and lead internal presentations to the media group or larger Periscope constituents as it pertains to trends or information that would impact our clients or the agency business
  • Keep all members of Account teams informed of media opportunities or challenges that could impact the client budget and goals of the campaign
  • Keep supervisors current on issues that may affect the client-agency relationship, especially any problems or indications of dissatisfaction with media performance that may affect ability to meet exceed stated objectives and goals
  • Speak with clarity and have a strong understanding on the forward-ability of emails or other digital documents


  • Lead and/or assist in the preparation and presentation of new business “pitches” as requested by manager
  • Take responsibility for key deliverables and organization or media discussions as it relates to new business
  • Represent the agency’s mission, capabilities and goals accurately to assigned clients, business development prospects and other potential industry allies (i.e. vendors, peers, etc.)
  • Take all appropriate action to meet or exceed expected planning goals


  • Review and approve media authorizations and other Periscope contract documents before going to clients
  • Take appropriate action to reconcile media invoicing problems when appropriate
  • Record expenses and billable time completely and accurately on a weekly basis
