National Media Investor - Chicago

The National Media Investor manages assigned accounts and client plans for national video and audio media across linear and advanced platforms. As a key member of the Investment team, you’ll use your passion for data, your knack for spotting the next big thing and strong vendor relationships to negotiate and steward plans, manage custom content integration and cross-platform deals. This will include client-facing leadership, collaborating with planning teams on media strategy, meticulously managing budgets and forecasting pricing.

  • Collaborate with Planning team media plan, strategies, budgets, programming, promotional elements, channels, etc.
  • RFP and evaluate vendors for on-strategy plans and innovative opportunities
  • Communicate openly and effectively with partners on consideration set, opportunities to improve and rationale on decisions
  • Architect optimal buys with an eye to cost efficiency and delivery of client objectives
  • Craft and present compelling buy recommendations to planning and client teams
  • Work with Planning and Account teams to build and enforce timelines
  • Ensure billing discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner, communicate issues and major deviations and effectively solve challenges quickly
  • Evaluate and present POVs on partner opportunities on an ad hoc basis
  • Forecast pricing and availabilities across all national media types
  • Perform quarterly posts, securing compensatory weight when necessary


  • Must have extensive market knowledge, strong partner relationships across all national media platforms
  • Experience working with advanced TV platforms (programmatic, addressable, OTT, VOD) and advanced targeting preferred
  • Experience with Hispanic audio and video buying a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and management skills
  • Must be an analytical thinker with strong media math and research skills
  • Nielsen and ComScore proficiency
  • Buying Software, preferably Media Ocean
  • Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel)


  • 3+ years of national media buying experience, in an agency or client-side
  • B.A., or equivalent education and/or work experience with an emphasis in advertising/marketing a plus
  • Minimal travel required
