Senior Art Producer

The Senior Art Producer is responsible for the execution of photography, illustration, CGI, and affiliated video and event productions from inception to completion within the creative and budgetary parameters set forth by the client, agency creative and account teams. As a part of the larger creative department, the producer must maximize production value while being mindful of agency profit as the primary manager of all budgets, schedules and communications for content production jobs.

RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Client/Internal/External Relationships

  • Work as an art producer closely with Creatives, Account Managers and Project Managers to determine the creative and business objectives of all content related jobs and facilitate the most creative and cost-efficient production of those jobs, managing all aspects of production as the job progresses, ensuring the work is on strategy, on time and on budget
  • Represent the agency in a highly professional manner at all times, but especially when in the company of clients
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Creative team, Account team, Project Management team and other relevant internal bodies to facilitate maximum productivity and efficiency on all jobs
  • Search out and grow vendor relationships to ensure the best possible creative options are presented at the best possible rates
  • Understand and work productively with the internal capability groups at the agency (studio, editorial) to match them with the appropriate projects and increase overall agency profitability when it makes sense creatively
  • Assist with the training and development of Associate Producers and Coordinators

Communication

  • Create and present production estimates and schedules to all internal and external partners as needed
  • Maintain accurate production folders and records of all jobs produced for reference and job history
  • Maintain and communicate project usage parameters to all necessary partners regularly
  • Maintain accurate files on servers, updating regularly
  • Act as a resource for all agency personnel and clients with regard to current photography/illustration/content industry information 
  • Continually increase knowledge of all aspects of agency content production, available production resources, technology and industry trends

Business Development

  • Responsible for creation of new business materials for pitches, contests, website & PR
  • Pursue new ways to contribute to overall agency and client profitability
  • Assist VP/Director, Periscope Studios and Executive Producers in development of internal production capabilities
  • Contribute to archiving, production payroll, stock sourcing, orientation and other departmental processes

Financial/Administrative

  • Responsible for recommending photographers, illustrators, content creators, talent and artisans for various projects
  • Obtain and analyze competitive bids from various production partners to insure cost efficiency
  • Negotiate production and talent rates to ensure the best possible rate while maintaining a high production value
  • Provide timely and accurate estimates of all jobs and monitor the budgets throughout the production process
  • Negotiate talent rates & payments (Non-Union & Union)
  • Negotiate crew rates, usage & payments
  • Monitor usage deals on projects and update account teams regularly
  • Facilitate payment of talent and use fees
  • Maintain accurate talent and crew records
  • Facilitate the payment of production crews as necessary for internal and external production
  • Check and approve all job invoices for accuracy
  • Complete POs and invoice reconciliation in a timely manner
  • Book and manage travel for all agency personnel, clients and talent involved in a given production, if required
  • Manage all productions & communication in our agency-wide project management platform
  • Check on licensing, rights, and other related issues on all assigned projects
  • Perform other duties from time to time to meet the changing needs of the agency

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • In-depth knowledge of photography & illustration negotiations, estimates, rates and usage
  • Ability to analyze photography estimates and create detailed budget reports
  • Solution-oriented creative problem solver
  • Understanding of asset types, file naming and delivery methodology
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with many personalities
  • Strong presentation skills and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Flexibility with hours and ability to travel when required
  • 4+ years photography/illustration production experience
  • Agency art production or freelance photography production background
  • Motion and event production experience a plus
